Meeting Patient Needs

Meeting Patient Needs

Eighteen GP practices within three general practice clusters in Forth Valley are being supported to take part in a ground-breaking programme which aims to develop the skills and role of practice administration teams.

The Braes and Slamannan, Clackmannanshire and North West Stirling GP clusters will draw upon the vast expertise of the wider care primary workforce supporting GPs, and be involved in a series of learning sessions and webinars at local and national level.

The aim of this project is to support the development of practice administrative teams, improve GP practice processes and ensure that patients are directed to the most appropriate source of help or advice so they and their families receive the right care at the right time. The programme will also focus on promoting closer communication across practice teams and with other care providers, and an improvement in document management.

The clusters were selected after Clackmannanshire and Stirling and Falkirk Health and Social Care Partnerships were successful in being chosen to participate in the improvement journey through the Practice Administrative Staff Collaborative. The programme runs until March next year.
